HENDERSON, Nev., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- A teenager was rescued after she was allegedly kidnapped and tied up in the bathroom of a Las Vegas-area home this weekend, police said.

Melissa Duran, 17, was found by SWAT officers in a home in Henderson Saturday about 21 hours after she was reportedly abducted from her home.

She had been bound and blindfolded, but was in good condition despite being terrified by her ordeal, said Henderson Police Chief Patrick Moers.

Two suspects were arrested in the pre-dawn raid and may have been connected to a landscaping business owned by Melissa's father. "We do not believe this was a random act," Moers said. "We believe there is a connection from the suspects to the family."

The Las Vegas Sun said some of Melissa's friends from high school rushed to the Duran home when they heard she had been freed. "She was very chipper," said Jessica Favela. "She made us feel better."
