77-year-old pastor arrested on drug charge

UMATILLA, Fla., Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A 77-year-old Florida pastor was arrested for allegedly trafficking Oxycodone, officials said.

Gussie Smith, a pastor at the Church of Jesus in Umatilla, was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly trafficking the prescription drug, WFTV, Orlando, Fla., reported.

Officials did not give any details on Smith's arrest, citing an ongoing drug operation.

Smith was released from jail Thursday on a $50,000 bond.

Meanwhile, Umatilla community members are shock that Smith was arrested for allegedly trafficking Oxycodone.

"I can't imagine what happened, but I can't see her trafficking any drugs, either," said local resident Alfred Drayton.
