PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- The retrial of the Rev. James J. Brennan on an attempted rape charge of a 14-year-old boy is scheduled for March 6, a judge in Philadelphia said Wednesday.

Brennan, 49, was tried earlier this year for the crime, which allegedly occurred in 1996. On June 22 a Common Pleas Court jury said it could not reach a verdict on counts of attempted rape and child endangerment, and Judge M. Teresa Sarmina declared a mistrial, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Common Pleas Court Judge Robert T. Coleman set the new trial date after meeting with prosecutors and defense attorneys, and also set March 4 for a pretrial conference, court documents said.
