TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Republicans meeting in Tampa, Fla., Tuesday took a moment of silence to honor some of the party's leaders who have died since the 2008 party convention.

Republican National Convention Co-chairwoman Sharon Day read the roll as the names scrolled behind her on the stage at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

Among those who were remembered were former Chief of Staff Alexander Haig Jr., congressional members Mark Hatfield, Jack Kemp, Charles Percy and Ted Stevens; and commentator Andrew Breitbart.
