Romney told "Fox News Sunday" that while he and the Republicans wanted to talk about the future and getting the United States moving forward, the president was immersed in minor issues and attempting to stir up class resentment.
"Their campaign is not the big issues that America faces," said Romney, who was in Tampa to accept the GOP nomination later this week. "Their campaign is not about the fact that you have 23 million people out of work and half the kids coming out of college can't find work. Their campaign is trying to find something to say, gee, he (Romney) had a Swiss bank account."
"This is not an ego ride for me," Romney added. "I'm really concerned about America."
Romney said the supposedly divisive campaign being mounted by the Democrats was recognized by most Americans for what it is. As a result, he said, the Obama effort has failed to gain traction for the president.
