BOSTON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- The Romney campaign announced Friday that attendees at next week's Republican convention in Florida will be able to make donations from their cell phones.

Delegates and visitors will also be able to buy convention souvenirs with the Square device, the campaign said.

Mitt Romney is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee with a majority of the delegates to the Tampa convention pledged to him.

"Square-enabled phones and devices will be used throughout the 2012 Republican National Convention providing a quick and easy way for delegates and visitors to make donations and buy souvenirs with a simple swipe of their credit card on a mobile device," the campaign said.

The Obama campaign announced this week it can now accept contributions via mobile phone.
