Dad who drowned sons gets death penalty
WASHINGTON, Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Pentagon officials said they are aware of the identity of the former U.S. Navy SEAL who is writing a book about the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
New York book publisher Dutton had given the former SEAL, who was involved in the raid, a pseudonym to pen the tell-all, but Fox News revealed the author is Matt Bissonnette, 36.
Bissonette's book, "No Easy Day," is scheduled to be released Sept. 11, The Washington Post reported Thursday.
Pentagon officials said the book was not submitted to them for review to make sure no classified information has been revealed.
There is no rule requiring active-duty service members or veterans to submit manuscripts or obtain permission to publish, Navy officials said, though they can be prosecuted by the Justice Department after the fact if they disclose classified information.
