FORT WORTH, Texas, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A Texas man allegedly was killed by white supremacists because they thought he falsely boasted about being a member of their group, authorities said Tuesday.

The decomposing body of Ernest Lackey, 34, of Burleson was found Aug. 2 and three suspects were charged with murder Monday. Authorities believe Lackey was killed July 7, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported Tuesday.

Jimmy Lee Riddle, 42, Ronnie Wayne Freeman Jr., 32, and Staten William Corbett, 45, who were ordered held on $100,000 bond each, allegedly beat, tortured and killed Lackey because Lackey claimed an affiliation with their unidentified organization, a Tarrant County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.
