TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A 67-year-old Florida man was held without bail Tuesday, charged with trying to settle an argument by dousing a woman with gas and setting her on fire.
Ulysses Chapman of Tampa faces cocaine possession charges, as well as aggravated battery and second-degree arson, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
Investigators said Chapman and Anita Ahmadi, 40, had gotten into an argument Saturday while sitting in his car, Tampa's WTSP-TV reported. Witnesses allege Chapman told Ahmadi he would set her on fire if she did not stop talking and then acted on the threat.
The victim was seriously burned. The fire also left Chapman's car damaged.
