LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- A week after she was reported missing, the body of a California veteran scuba diver was recovered from an underwater cove, police said.
Coroner's investigator Elissa Fleak told The Los Angeles Times recreational divers found the body of 50-year-old Rebecca Weiss Saturday.
Weiss was found in her wetsuit 200 yards offshore of the Terranea Resort in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the report said.
Fleak said a Sunday autopsy would determine the cause of death.
Meanwhile, the Times said Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials were questioning the woman's husband, Alan Weiss.
Last week, the dead woman's mother, Vilma Causey, told KTLA-TV her son-in-law was behaving strangely since her daughter's disappearance.
She said her son-in-law's behavior was "not the reaction of a person that has somebody missing that is close to you."
The investigation is continuing, the newspaper said.
