Moderators named for presidential debates

WASHINGTON, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- Moderators have been named for the three debates on domestic and foreign policy between President Obama and presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

Moderating the first debate Oct. 3 at the University of Denver will be Jim Lehrer, the host of PBS' "NewsHour," 2012PresidentialElectionNews.com reported Monday. The topic will be on domestic policy.

On Oct. 16, the town-hall format debate at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.H., will be moderated by Candy Crowley, CNN chief political correspondent. The topic will be foreign and domestic policy and the town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization.

Bob Schieffer, host of CBS' "Face the Nation," will moderate the Oct. 22 debate on foreign policy at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.

The Oct. 11 vice presidential debate between Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan on foreign and domestic policy will be moderated by Martha Raddatz, ABC chief news foreign correspondent. The debate is at Centre College in Danville, Ky.

The debates are sponsored by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
