ASHEVILLE, N.C., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Evangelist Billy Graham was hospitalized Sunday in Asheville, N.C., for a pulmonary infection, staff members said.

Graham, 93, was admitted overnight to Mission Hospital for evaluation and treatment. He is thought to have bronchitis, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported.

The renowned evangelist was alert and in good spirits, the hospital said in a release. A pulmonologist treating Graham described Graham's condition as stable, the newspaper said.

Graham was treated for pneumonia in November but staff members say he has been in good overall health during the past year.
