PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- The parents of an Iraq War veteran who was killed in a Philadelphia-area car crash with "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn are seeking damages from Dunn's estate.
The lawsuit filed in state court in Philadelphia by George and Arma Hartwell of Melbourne, Fla., also names Barnaby's West Chester Inc., owner of the tavern where Dunn was drinking just before the crash, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.
Dunn, 34, and Zachary Hartwell, 30, of West Chester died June 20 when Dunn's Porsche 911 GT3 left the roadway, hit a tree and burned. Investigators say Dunn was driving at about 100 mph in an area where the speed limit was 55.
The Hartwells in court papers say Dunn had been drinking heavily and that Barnaby's continued to serve him while he was visibly intoxicated.
Dunn had a history of speeding tickets. He was charged with drunken driving in 2005 but the charge was dismissed.
A stuntman, Dunn was a star of the reality series "Jackass" and its three spinoff movies.
