CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 8 (UPI) -- A California woman and her three children were being sought Wednesday after her estranged husband was found dead in the couple's home, police said.

Julie Harper, 39, and her children, ages 9, 6 and 18 months, were unaccounted for and the family's two cars were missing from the residence in a gated community in Carlsbad, north of San Diego.

Police began looking for Harper when the body of a man believed to be her husband, Jason, 30, was found Tuesday night after Carlsbad police received a telephone call from a person officers did not immediately identify.

The identity of the victim was not released; however, KGTV-TV in San Diego said real estate records and neighbors on the quiet street said the home was occupied by the Harpers and their three kids.

KGTV said the couple filed for divorce Aug. 2. Police said Julie Harper was not considered a suspect. There was also no indication whether police considered her or her children to be in danger.
