WASHINGTON, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Mitt Romney's campaign plans a four-day bus tour through four swing states -- Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Ohio.

The campaign announced the tour Monday, dubbing it "The Romney Plan for a Stronger Middle Class" tour. It begins Saturday in Virginia.

Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate, will be accompanied in at least three of the states by people who have been suggested as potential vice presidential choices, starting with Gov. Bob McDonnell in Virginia, ABC News reported. U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida will join the tour Monday in Florida and Sen. Rob Portman in Ohio, with only North Carolina a blank so far.

ABC suggested the lineup could be anything from a chance for Romney to get to know possible vice presidential candidates better to consolation prizes for those who have not got the nod.
