Woman's body found at suicide's NYC home

NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- New York police say they were working to identify the decomposed body of a woman found in the attic of a man who committed suicide.

The man, Devendra Autar, 32, left a note that "hell is waiting for me," written several weeks before he hanged himself in his Queens borough home, the New York Daily News reported.

Autar's brother, Devchand, a New York police officer, discovered Devendra's body July 20. He found the woman's corpse Saturday while cleaning out the home's attic. The body was wrapped in plastic and stuffed into a plastic container, the New York Post reported.

The woman had been stabbed 22 times in the neck and torso, the medical examiner found. She had numerous tattoos and was between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. Her race could not be determined because of the condition of the body.

Police said her identity does not match any missing persons reports.
