BOSTON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Presumptive Republican U.S. presidential nominee Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee raised more than $101 million in July, the campaign said.
"Once again we see that for many people, this is more than a campaign, it is a cause," Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said in a statement issued Monday.
Romney for President, Romney Victory, and the Republican National Committee raised more than $101.3 million in July and combined have about $185.9 million cash on hand, officials said.
"We are honored to have the support of a broad spectrum of donors -- Independents, Democrats and Republicans -- whose support of [former Massachusetts] Gov. Romney shows that he has the needed plan to jump start our economy and get the country on the right track again," Zwick added.
Romney's communications office said about $25.7 million in July was raised by donations of $250 or less.
