Kathleen Savio was found dead face-down in the master bathroom tub of the couple's home in 2004. Savio's sister, Anna Marie Doman, testified Friday when she went to the house one day after her sister was found dead, she saw then-Bollingbrook, Ill., police sergeant Drew Peterson, Savio's husband, scrubbing the tub where the woman was found, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Doman described the scene to the judge and jury, acting out the motion of bending forward and moving back and forth when cleaning a tub, the newspaper said.
Peterson's lawyers repeatedly questioned Doman about why she waited until 2007 -- after the disappearance of Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy -- to come forward with her suspicion that Peterson was responsible for Savio's death.
Doman said she tried to tell police earlier, but no one would listen to her.
"She's making it up," defense attorney Joel Brodsky said after court ended for the day.
