PALATKA, Fla., July 31 (UPI) -- A 30-year-old woman arrested in Palatka, Fla., faces human trafficking charges for allegedly trading her newborn for a used truck, police said.
Heather Ann Kaminsky allegedly bartered her newborn son for a 1999 Dodge Dakota pickup in Kentucky shortly after the baby was born in January.
The Orlando Sentinel reported she was arrested in Palatka July 18 after selling the truck for $800 and methamphetamines.
The Putnam County Sherriff's office said Kamisky was released from jail Thursday to answer to felony human-trafficking charges in Laurel County, Ky.
Jeremy and Jamiee Brown of Kentucky face similar charges for their alleged involvement in the other end of the transaction.
The Florida Department of Children and Families had previously taken two other children away from Kaminsky, who previously lived in Putnam County.
