Candidate Romney heading overseas

BOSTON, July 22 (UPI) -- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will travel to England this week before heading to Israel and Poland, his campaign staff said Sunday.

In England Thursday, he will meet with Prime Minister David Cameron, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Labor Party Leader Ed Miliband, Foreign Secretary William Hague and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, the Romney campaign said.

On Friday, Romney will meet with Irish Taoiseach Enda Kenny and U.S. Olympic athletes, as well as take in the Olympic opening ceremonies

On July 29, the former Massachusetts governor, who is expected to face Democratic President Barack Obama in the November general election, will be in Israel where he will meet with U.S. Ambassador Dan Shapiro, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Israeli President Shimon Peres, the leader of the opposition party and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad.

Romney also will deliver remarks while there.

Romney will then travel to Poland where he will meet with Prime Minister Donald Tusk and former President Lech Walesa on July 30. The following day, he will meet with Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and President Bronislaw Komorowski, .

He also will visit Polish historical sites and deliver remarks while in the country.
