Federal feasibility studies and mandatory reviews will be accelerated to improve the ports of Miami, Jacksonville, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.; Charleston, S.C., and the unified Port of New York and New Jersey, a statement said.
The expedited processes are part of the "We Can't Wait!" initiative to identify projects in which time lines of federal involvement can be shortened. In the case of the Port of Jacksonville, the statement said, a feasibility study normally taking 10 years will be reduced to three years.
