PHILADELPHIA, July 17 (UPI) -- Police say a Philadelphia man deliberately rammed his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend with a car, killing the Philadelphia police officer, who was on a bicycle.

Kareem Alleyne, 35, was charged Monday with the vehicular homicide and manslaughter of Marc Brady, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Capt. James Clark said Brady's death appears to have been the result of a chance meeting between two men "with bad blood between them." Alleyne, who had been at his girlfriend's house, was driving away late Sunday and Brady may have been bicycling there to see his children.

Brady was on administrative leave from the police department, apparently involving off-duty domestic violence incidents. In 2010, he was shot in the leg after an argument with another man.
