LEBANON, Ohio, July 16 (UPI) -- Authorities in Ohio said a high school student they allege was the main supplier of marijuana for the Mason and Kings school districts has been arrested.
John Burke, commander of the Warren County Drug Task Force in Lebanon said seven of the suspect's alleged suppliers have also been arrested, marijuana plants valued at more than $3 million have been seized and three growing facilities have been shut down, the Dayton Daily News reported Monday.
The suspect, who was charged in juvenile court, was identified only as a 17-year-old who had been dealing drugs since he was at least 15 years old.
Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell said five or six Mason High School students worked with the suspect, who was bringing in $20,000 a month, and stashing it in his closet.
Fornshell said Michael Lopez of Cincinnati was supplying the 17-year-old accused dealer, who Fornshell said looked like "someone who'd be in a church youth group or honor program."
"He clearly had a high level of intelligence but it was very misguided," Fornshell said.
