Neighbors complain of smell, San Francisco bacon restaurant shut down

MIAMI, July 7 (UPI) -- Daniel puffed up into a Category 2 hurricane Saturday night as it chugged across the Pacific Ocean far out from the west coast of Mexico, U.S. forecasters said.
In an 8 p.m. PDT advisory, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Daniel was about 920 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California and heading west at 14 mph. The center said no coastal watches or warnings were in effect.
Maximum sustained winds were near 105 mph with higher gusts. Hurricane-force winds extended 30 miles from the eye and tropical storm winds extended up to 115 miles out.
Forecasters said Daniel would likely pick up more forward speed into Monday, but begin to weaken Sunday as it passes over cooler water.
Daniel formed Friday.
