LAS VEGAS, July 1 (UPI) -- A woman suspected of securities fraud fell 35 floors to her death Saturday at the Signature MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, police said.

The Clark County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Lisa DeMaria, 46, WLAS-TV reported. She is listed as the owner of Ocean Pictures Inc., the Las Vegas TV station said.

A search warrant issued after DeMaria's death revealed the state's securities division was investigating her for securities fraud, preventing or dissuading a victim or witness from commencing prosecution, or causing arrest, destroying evidence and failure to appear, KLAS-TV said.

The warrant sought to seize documents regarding The Vegas Channel or Luxury Lifestyles of Las Vegas, along with her laptop.

The TV station said DeMaria had 22 felony charges pending against her dating to 2005, including 15 counts of fraudulent sale of security

Secretary of State Ross Miller said in a statement that DeMaria was arrested in March 2010 for allegedly bilking nearly $200,000 from nine people who invested in The Vegas Channel venture.

She had been scheduled to go to trial in January, but it was canceled for unknown reasons and three days later a bench warrant was issued for her arrest, KLAS-TV said. Her next court date on a bond motion had been set for July 12.
