NEW YORK, June 26 (UPI) -- The adopted son of convicted sex abuser Jerry Sandusky told police he was sexually molested by his father in an interview taped during his father's trial.

Matt Sandusky's 29-minute audiotape was recorded by police detectives June 15, four days after his father's trial began in Bellefonte, Pa., NBC News said Tuesday, and describes examples of rubbing and massage that would leave the son "cowering in a fetal position." He also told police he once fled the family house in fear, but unlike some of the victims who testified at his father's trial, said he could not remember if his father engaged in certain sex acts with him.

NBC News said it exclusively obtained the tape, which was recorded by police detectives preparing Matt Sandusky to testify as a surprise prosecution witness at the trial, and noted the son had been publicly supportive of his father until he heard testimony on the first day of the trial, after which he contacted police and offered to testify on behalf of the prosecution.

Jerry Sandusky was convicted last Friday on 45 counts of child sex abuse.
