2 men die in Calif. boating accident

IRVINE, Calif., June 25 (UPI) -- The bodies of two men were pulled from Irvine Lake in Southern California Sunday, hours after their small boat capsized, authorities said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said two companions were rescued shortly before 12:30 a.m. by a security guard who spotted the overturned boat, The Orange County Register reported.

The two men whose bodies were recovered by 11:45 a.m. were identified as Juan Flores, 34, and Tomas Privera, 24, the newspaper said.

It wasn't known what caused the boat to capsize.
