
NEWARK, N.J., June 23 (UPI) -- Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, New Jersey's largest city, described efforts to help a pedestrian hit by a car in a Twitter feed.
Booker made national headlines recently when he helped pull a neighbor from her burning home.
On Twitter, Booker gave most of the credit for helping in Friday's pedestrian/vehicle crash to others, including the driver of the car, NorthJersey.com reported.
"God bless my residents. Pulled up on pedestrian/vehicle accident. We got man stabilized & into ambulance. He'll b OK. Thanks 2 all who helped," Booker said in his initial tweet.
The mayor followed up with: "I appreciate the driver. man ran into traffic. Driver did the right thing & stayed & helped me & others aid man until medical help arrived."
