Clown arrested on child porn complaint

FORT SMITH, Ark., June 21 (UPI) -- An Arkansas man was who works as a children's entertainer was arrested on a child pornography complaint, police said.

Thomas Harold Morgan, 47, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, the Fort Smith Times Record reported.

Morgan performs at children's events under the name Sondance the Clown.

Fort Smith Police Cpl. Steven Dooly said in a release police detected someone downloading "illegal child exploitation files" from Morgan's home, using an Internet account belonging to Morgan.

While executing a search warrant at Morgan's home, police found "numerous items of digital media" containing suspected child pornography, Dooly said.

Dooly said Morgan will be held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
