Alaska Airlines jet lands with blown tires

SANTA ANA, Calif., June 21 (UPI) -- Alaska Airlines Flight 508 landed safely Thursday at John Wayne Airport in Southern California with two blown tires, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The flight, which originated in Seattle, blew its right main gear tires as it was landing, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor told the Los Angeles Times.

When the crew brought the plane in safely at 2:30 p.m., there were indications of some smoke but no fire, KCAL-TV, Los Angeles, reported.

None of the 160 passengers or the crew onboard the Boeing 737-800 were injured, the Times said.

The FAA is investigating.
