ROCKVILLE, Md., June 18 (UPI) -- The U.S. Navy has given Ultra Electronics' 3eTI an additional task order for the service's SmartGrid Pilot program for reduced energy consumption.
The award, worth $10 million, is for the expansion of the Enterprise Industrial Controls System, which is built on 3eTI's EnergyGuard and VirtualGuard solutions.
Under the additional task order, EICS would be applied to all bases within the Naval Distract of Washington to not only reduce energy consumption but also protect critical network infrastructure from cyberattack.
"Cybersecurity relating to critical infrastructure is a present and growing concern to government customers," said 3eTI President Benga Erinle. "We are pleased that our products and solutions, with integral and robust DID capabilities, will continue to assist the Navy in meeting its energy security goals, including the Energy Independence and Security Act and Energy Policy Act mandates."
The company had earlier received a $25 million, multiyear award to protect critical infrastructure within the naval District.
EnergyGuard is a cyber secure sensor networking system. It integrates the district's Direct Digital Controls and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition systems into an enterprise network and the Navy's security operation centers.
