ST. GEORGE, S.C., June 16 (UPI) -- Police in rural South Carolina used a stun gun on a nude 80-year-old woman after she allegedly tried to attack them with a cane, officials said.
Officers were responding to a complaint in Dorchester County of someone being loud when they were met by the naked elderly woman who reportedly was hitting the porch steps with her cane, WCSC-TV, Charlotte, reported Friday.
Police said the woman was speaking in a confusing manner and started swinging her cane. While police were trying to take the cane away from her, one officer used his stun gun on the woman's back.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
