W.Va. 2-year-old killed by dogs

ST. MARYS, W.Va., June 13 (UPI) -- A 2-year-old West Virginia boy was fatally mauled by two mixed-breed dogs Wednesday when he wandered into a neighbor's yard, police said.

The Pleasants County Sheriff's Office and West Virginia State Police said the attacked occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in St. Marys, the Parkersburg News and Sentinel reported. The child's father found him behind the neighbor's home following the attack.

Officials said the dogs were taken from the home and placed under quarantine at a veterinarian clinic pending legal proceedings, WTAP-TV, Parkersburg, reported.
