The suspect, Alexzander Rye Coan, 23, was fatally shot.

A woman was being held against her will inside the apartment at the time, and Coan's girlfriend, Jade Nycole Simon, 30, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping and outstanding traffic warrants, police said. Simon was held in the Arlington jail Wednesday on $100,995 bail.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram said the kidnapping victim's identity and other details about her had not been released.

Fort Worth police had been trying to arrest Coan on a felony warrant but he refused to come out, and Fort Worth police contacted the Arlington police department, which sent a SWAT team to assist.

Graham, 35, who was wearing a helmet as part of his SWAT gear when he was shot, was in stable condition Wednesday at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth Wednesday.

"His family remains by his side, along with members of his police family. Officers have been stopping by the hospital to visit officer Graham throughout the day. He has been positive and in good spirits, even while dealing with the pain of his head injury," Tiara Richard, a police spokeswoman, said in a release.

Fort Worth police suspected Coan in four aggravated robberies, the Star-Telegram said.
