ARLINGTON, Va., June 11 (UPI) -- Presumptive GOP U.S. presidential nominee Mitt Romney said his upcoming five-day bus tour of six key battleground states will focus on "everyday concerns."
Romney's "Every Town Counts" bus tour is scheduled to begin Friday in Stratham, N.H., and will take him to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan, Politico reported Monday.
The tour will make stops in small towns, though the campaign has yet to announcement specific locations. The Des Moines (Iowa) Register reported Romney will be in Davenport June 18 and The Detroit News said he will attend fundraisers June 20 in Grand Rapids and Troy, Mich.
"For three and a half years, President Obama has paid little attention to the everyday concerns of the American people," Romney said about the focus on small towns on the tour. "President Obama has offered no hope for the future, and he has left American families to bear the burden of his failed policies."
Purple Strategies' latest poll showed Obama leading Romney in Virginia by three points and in Colorado by two points. The same poll found Romney is up in Ohio by three points and in Florida by four points.
An EPIC-MRA poll of Michigan voters showed Romney leading Obama by one point, though Obama had a four-point lead in the state in April.
