Octomom's home auction postponed

LA HABRA, Calif., June 10 (UPI) -- The foreclosure auction of "Octomom" Nadya Suleman's California home was postponed for the fourth time, officials said.

The La Habra home was set to be auctioned Thursday on the steps of Orange City Hall, The Orange County (Calif.) Register reported.

The reason for the postponement was unclear, but a previous postponement in May was due to Suleman's father, part owner of the house, filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in federal court.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom house was first scheduled to be auctioned on April 30, but was delayed then because Suleman filed for bankruptcy at that time, prompting the first and second postponements.

Suleman's bankruptcy claim was rejected by a judge because she missed a deadline for filing paperwork.

Documents show Suleman owes more than $30,000 to Amer Haddadin, the previous owner of her home.

The Web site Realtor.com lists the estimated value of the house at $540,500.

Suleman became famous in 2009 when she gave birth to octuplets after already having six children, all conceived through fertility treatments.
