Bushes tour namesake U.S. carrier

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine, June 10 (UPI) -- Former President George H.W. Bush visited the U.S. aircraft carrier named after him off the Maine coast Sunday.

Bush, who turns 88 Tuesday, and members of his family were flown by helicopter out to the ship for a ceremony, Seacoastline.com reported.

Locals and tourists flocked to the beaches in the Kennebunkport area to get a glimpse of the naval behemoth and shoot photos of it, the Web site said.
