Cuban president's daughter supports Obama

WASHINGTON, June 4 (UPI) -- Mariela Castro, the daughter of Cuban President Raul Castro, said she wants U.S. President Barack Obama to win a second term.

"As a citizen of the world, I would like him to win," Castro told CNN. "Seeing the candidates, I prefer Obama."

Mariela Castro, a niece of former President Fidel Castro, is a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights activist in Cuba, CNN reported Monday.

Castro said she believes Obama is a "fair man," adding that he needs more support.

"If Obama counted on the full support of the American people, then we can normalize the relationships; we can have better relations than what we had under President Carter," Castro said.
