Winans attackers hearing postponed

DETROIT, June 2 (UPI) -- The preliminary hearing for the three suspects in the robbery and carjacking of the Detroit Rev. Marvin Winans has been delayed, officials say.

Montoya Givens and Christopher Moorhead, both 20, and Brian Young, 18, will face a judge on June 11 after their preliminary examination was delayed Friday, The Detroit News reported.

The three are accused of attacking Winans, the pastor and gospel singer who delivered the eulogy at singer Whitney Houston's funeral in February, while he pumped gas at a Detroit station on May 16.

Givens, Moorhead and Young are charged with carjacking, unarmed robbery and conspiracy for allegedly stealing Winans' sport utility vehicle, as well as his cash and a Rolex watch.
