The Duck Lake Fire, located on Michigan's Upper Peninsula in Luce County, the state's least populated county, is burning 14 miles northeast of the town of Newberry, WLUC-TV, Marquette, Mich., reported Tuesday.
Dean Wilson of the DNR said that property damage is still being assessed, but 95 structures have been lost, including 34 homes or cottages, 22 garages, 20 sheds or outbuildings, 17 campers, one store and a motel.
DNR crews have reported difficulty securing the southeast section of the fire due to less accessibility to the area, the television station said.
