QUINCY, Mass., May 25 (UPI) -- Police said they are investigating a fatal accident early Friday at a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority ferry terminal.

The incident occurred around 3:34 a.m. at the Harbor Express parking lot at the ferry boat terminal in Quincy, The Boston Globe reported.

MBTA spokesperson Lydia Rivera said an oil truck was in the process of fueling a commuter boat when the truck's brakes failed. The truck rolled into the driver, pinning him against a wall.

A second person in the truck was able to back the truck up and call 911.

However, the injured driver's "condition deteriorated on scene," said Quincy police Capt. John Dougan, whose department responded to the emergency.

The driver was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to Quincy Medical Center.

The incident is now being investigated by transit police.
