Seven school buses involved in crash

ATLANTA, May 19 (UPI) -- Seven school buses taking children to a Georgia theme park were involved in a crash Saturday morning in a highway construction zone, police said.

The crash occurred on Interstate 20 about 25 miles east of Atlanta, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. The buses were carrying students from Burke County Middle School in Waynesboro, near the South Carolina line, to Six Flags.

The Georgia State Patrol reported one bus driver was medevacked to a hospital in Atlanta. Another 43 children and adults were treated for minor injuries at hospitals in the Covington area.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, police said.
