Dad who drowned sons gets death penalty
STATE COLLEGE, Pa., May 16 (UPI) -- In motions filed Wednesday, former Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky's lawyer requested that some charges in Sandusky's sexual abuse case be dismissed.
Attorney Joe Amendola argued the state has not provided adequately specific information to allow defense preparations for a trial, The (State College) Centre Daily Times reported Wednesday. Previously, he requested a delay in the start of Sandusky's trial, saying more time to prepare was required.
Sandusky is facing charges that he sexually abused young boys through a non-profit organization he founded, The Second Mile. He maintains his innocence.
The motions filed Wednesday also asked Judge John Cleland to dismiss several of the charges for insufficient evidence. A purported victim, for example, allegedly seen by a witness with Sandusky in a campus shower, has not been identified, the newspaper said.
