CONCORD, N.H., May 16 (UPI) -- The New Hampshire Legislature has voted to readmit a lawmaker who used a Nazi slogan during a dispute.
Rep. Steve Vaillancourt, a Republican from Manchester, said "Sieg Heil" Tuesday after Speaker William O'Brien threatened him with removal, the New Hampshire Union Leader in Manchester reported. O'Brien, also a Republican, then ordered Vaillancourt taken out by the sergeant at arms.
The House approved his readmission to the chamber 238-103 on condition he apologize to both the body and O'Brien. Vaillancourt did so.
The dispute occurred while the House was debating a bill requiring voters to present photo identification.
