Detroit gunman kills two on party bus

DETROIT, May 13 (UPI) -- Two Detroit residents aboard a parked party bus were shot to death early Sunday by a gunman pulling off a robbery nearby, police said.

The incident began about 2 a.m. when a 30-year-old Clinton Township man standing outside a bar was approached by an armed man who demanded his money, the Detroit Free Press reported.

As the victim was complying, people on the party bus parked near the bar started yelling and shouting at the robber, who then fired rounds into the bus.

The bus driver flagged down passing sheriff's deputies, saying passengers had been shot.

Deputies said when they boarded the bus, they found a 28-year-old Detroit man on the floor and a 19-year Detroit woman slumped in a seat.

The shooting victims were rushed to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Deputies had not arrested anyone and an investigation into the shooting was under way.
