CHICAGO, May 13 (UPI) -- A single-car crash in Chicago just minutes before Mother's Day killed four young mothers, authorities said.

Fatally injured in the 11:55 p.m. Saturday crash were Tyshyra Hines, 21, Ieshia Nelson, 21, Bernadette Harris, 25, and Alicia Goston, 22, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The four women had a total of six children, the newspaper said.

A Chicago police report said the women's car was traveling at a "high rate of speed" when it hit a support column for an elevated train track and a utility pole in Chicago's Austin neighborhood.

Relatives said the women had gone out for the evening and were on their way to Goston's grandmother's 61st birthday party. The cause of the crash had not been determined.
