RICHMOND, Va., May 6 (UPI) -- A woman clad in a Muslim burqa apparently was escorted out of an appearance by President Obama in Virginia, a White House report said.

A pool reporter accompanying the president said in a written dispatch that the woman clad in the body and head covering black burqa was carrying a book and wearing a collection of pins of U.S. military insignia.

It was not known why Richmond, Va., police and other security officers decided to eject the unidentified woman from the rally; however, she appeared to be cooperative.
