ROGERS, Ark., May 3 (UPI) -- A man committed suicide, shooting himself moments before his arrest for shooting a Rogers, Ark., police officer, police said.
Just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, police investigated a parked car near Lake Atlanta. A police dashboard camera shows Gregory Lance Duffy firing two shots at Cpl. Jeff Pollock, who then fell backwards as Duffy drove away.
Pollock was rushed to the hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He has since been released, KARK-TV, Little Rock, Ark. reported.
Early Wednesday, Duffy posted to Facebook saying, "I just shot a cop."
Police later went to Duffy's girlfriend's house to find him sitting in his car. He complied with an order to put his hands up, but quickly fired his weapon, killing himself, officers said. Police found a .357 caliber gun in the car.
Family members said Duffy was unpredictable and mentally unstable, despite the fact he was not under treatment for any mental illness.
