VINELAND, N.J., May 2 (UPI) -- A 45-year-old New Jersey man was arrested on drunken driving charges for the third time in 16 days, police said.
Authorities said Anderson Sotomayor of Vineland, N.J., was pulled over at 11:23 p.m. last Wednesday after he pulled his 1998 Buick into an intersection, forcing a Vineland police officer to veer his car into another lane, The (Vineland) Daily Journal reported.
Sotomayor, who police said had an open 40-ounce bottle of beer in his vehicle, was cited for 11 traffic violations, police said.
Police said an officer followed the car and saw it swerve into a center turn lane for 300 feet without turning, then pulled over Sotomayor.
The Daily Journal said police reports show Sotomayor had been arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on April 9 and April 11.
During the latest stop, police said, Sotomayor asked an officer to let him go and suggested the officer could give him a ride or follow him as he drove home.
Sotomayor was being held in Cumberland County Jail on $1,851 bail, the Daily Journal said.
