WALSENBURG, Colo., May 1 (UPI) -- Three Florida siblings captured in Colorado following a multistate crime spree will spend a combined 74 years in prison, a Colorado judge has ruled.
Chief District Judge Claude Appel sentenced Dylan Stanley-Dougherty to 32 years in prison for his actions during a high-speed car chase on August 10, The Pueblo (Colo.) Chieftain reported Tuesday.
Stanley-Dougherty, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree assault for shooting at police.
Appel said he gave Stanley-Dougherty the maximum sentence since there was no doubt he was the shooter during the high speed chase.
His brother Ryan Dougherty, 22, received 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to five counts of menacing while sister Lee Grace Dougherty, 29, was sentenced to a 24-year-prison term.
The charges relate to their capture following a freeway chase and shootout with police in southern Colorado.
The three siblings are scheduled to appear in a Georgia court on May 15 to answer bank robbery charges.
They also face court proceedings in Florida for the shooting of an officer during a high-speed chase there.
